NCOC Announcement 2021 Matric and Intermediate Exam Dates
As the coronavirus situation showed the sign of improvement, the government has started easing off restrictions that were placed ahead of the Eid.
On Wednesday, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) allowed the reopening of educational institutes from May 24 in areas where the coronavirus positivity ratio is less than five percent. Whereas all other educational institutes will reopen from June 7.
“Educational institutes in districts with less than five percent positivity rate will be reopened from May 24. Educational institutes in all districts will be reopened in a staggered manner from June 7,” said a statement issued after the NCOC meeting.
Chaired by the Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umar, the NCOC meeting also allowed board exams to start after June 20.
“All matric and intermediate exams will be held after June 20. All professional and non-professional exams will take place on a case-to-case basis as recommended by the ministry of education,” the statement added.
Among other important decisions, the NCOC has allowed outdoor dining at restaurants daily till midnight from May 24, while takeaway will be allowed 24/7. The tourism sector will also be reopened from Monday under strict COVID-19 protocols.

The NCOC decided that these restrictions will be eased from June 1:
- Outdoor marriage ceremonies with a maximum of 150 Individuals will be allowed.
- Staggered opening of the education sector from 7th June (other than those opened from 24th May).
The following will remain closed until further order.
- Indoor dining
- Indoor gyms
- Amusement parks (however, walking/jogging tracks will remain open)
